Sermon Help

In preparation for an upcoming sermon, I would like your help.  I would like to know where you have seen Jesus during this time of Covid.  Please film a short video and tell me where you have seen Jesus during this time.  The easiest way to do this is to put your cell phone on selfie mode and hit record.  You can text them to 309-357-0132 or email them to  Please send any videos by Wednesday, May 6th.

We will celebrate the Sacrament of Communion on Sunday, May 10th.  Each of us will provide our own bread and cup.  Remember, during communion, we use bread and grape juice or wine, because these were the elements common that Jesus had on hand.  Do not stress if you do not have grape juice or bread, use wine, coffee, water, whatever is convenient!

Zoom Seeds

Seeds will return May 13th via Zoom at 4:00.  If your children are interested in participating, please email Sue Kennedy or Diane Eades.

Streaming Worship

We are looking to put together a team to explore what equipment might be necessary to stream worship once we are back in person.  If you are interested in helping with this, please let Chris know.

Stay at Home Order

Maryland, DC, and Virginia have issued stay at home orders enforcable by fines and/or jail time.  If you need to be out on essential business, please let Chris know and he can send you a letter to protect you while out.

Prayer Services

We will continue with prayer services on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 and Thursday afternoons at 1:00.  This is a brief time of scripure, devotion, prayer, and a little catching up!  Services last approximately fifteen minutes and we would love to have you join us at

Several people have asked how they can continue to make their tithes and offerings while we are not meeting in person.  There are several ways.  You can mail a check to the church.  You can give online through paypal   You can also set up a payment through your banks online bill pay feature.  Paypal charges the church approximately 3%, so please consider either consider giving through one of the other two ways or adding 3% to your offering to offset the fee.

If any of our members who are “at risk” do not feel safe running errands, we have put together a team to help you out.  Please email me at and I will put you in touch with them.

Mars Hill

Mars Hill University will not be open to hosting conferences or mission trips this July.  This means that the Mars Hill mission trip is canceled for 2020.  We look forward to returning to Madison County in 2021.
