The Bowie Food Pantry has started collecting school supplies. They are in need of the larger backpacks, 5th grade and up. In addition to any school supplies they also need Kleenex, wipes, paper towels, hand sanitizer, quart zip lock bags and liquid soap. These are items that teachers ask for but some families can’t afford. Please have these items in by August 19th. They’ll be delivered on Monday the 20th.
This Sunday we will collect our mission giving. Steve Clark will join us to share about Champ House. Champ House Recovery Inc. is a Residential Transitional Program for men located in Bowie, MD. Our primary focus is to rehabilitate men that admittedly suffer from addictions related to Alcoholism, Drug and other destructive addiction’s. Presently we provide housing & support services for adult men from the Tri-State Area. These men participate in a daily intensive 12 Step Program, spiritual in nature, coupled with long- term sobriety from drugs and alcohol. Also we firmly believe after completing our spiritual program these individuals are able to return to their respective communities as very productive members of society. Champ House is registered with Universities and Colleges to offer open services to their student who need assistance. Some must attend our meetings to graduate.
Kick-off Sunday will be Sunday, September 9th. We will kick-off our fall programming with a celebration after worship. Plan and joining us and invite a friend!
